I burned a windows PRE dvd with macrium reflect, and ran the "fix boot issues" to try to get it to boot and unfortunatley that did not work either. I will try to make a windows 10 installation cd and report back if it does anything.

Solution: use Macrium Reflect bootable disc, go to restore > fix Windows Boot problem, it auto fix the boot manager. Remind next time after clone, boot the cloned disk alone without original source disk, connect after 1st boot.
